Dior Twin Set Duo eyeshadow Cherie Bow Spring 2013 Collection

Dior Twin Set Eyeshadow £24.50

I'm loving this new eyeshadow pencil/ powder combo that Dior has just released as part of their Cherie Bow Spring collection. Its so quick and easy to use that you can achieve a smoky eye in minutes.
When I first tried this product out a week ago at the Dior counter the girl had no idea how to apply this, and I'm not going to lie it looked awful!  Where she went wrong was that she didn't blend the product at all and used too much of the pencil side above my crease, it also didn't help that she used the pink shade and I am fair skinned.  So this time I tried out the grey shade (grey sight 060) and made sure I blended it well.  It looked gorgeous!  To use it you just need to fill in your lids with the pencil side all the way up to the crease, and then go over it with the powder side all over the lid and slightly above the crease and then with a blending brush, blend it up towards your brow bone.

The first swatch is of just the pencil and the second is the powder on top of the pencil.

PRINTEMPS PRÉCIEUX DE CHANEL spring 2013 collection

PRINTEMPS PRÉCIEUX DE CHANEL SPRING 2013 COLLECTION

So Chanel's spring collection has finally arrived at England's beauty counters!  After a long wait I couldn't wait to get my hands on their new Illuminating Powder and try out the new lip colours.  I only purchased 2 items from the collection, which were the Illuminating Powder and the Rouge Allure Velvet in 42 l'eclatante.
The collection consists of 'precious pinks and rich plums' and includes 3 new nail polishes, 6 lipsticks, 2 lip glosses, an eye shadow quad, and eye shadow duo, a blusher, 2 lip pencils and 3 waterproof eye liners.

Rouge Allure Velvet 42 L'Eclatante £25

This is my first Rouge Allure lipstick and I love the packaging.  From its sleek and elegant design, to the way the inner tube clicks out, every angle of the lipstick is perfectly styled, it even has the double CC embossed in the inner of the black outer case.
The texture is slightly waxy and not that moisturising, however it does have good staying power lasting around 3 hours. As with all the Rouge Allures that I swatched in store it is very pigmented and vibrant.  I have light skin and blonde hair and this shade worked really well on me I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves bright pinks.

Illuminating Powder £46

When I first saw this illuminating powder I knew I had to get it.  The design is so unique and I almost don't want to use it because the embossed design is too pretty!  So far I've been using this on the tops of my cheekbones, brow bones and down the ridge of my nose.  It is nice and subtle but you can layer it up for a more dramatic effect. I'm lucky as I don't have large pores but I have heard that this product can highlight them so maybe something to test before buying if you do have large pores.  I tried to swatch this for you but my lighting wasn't very good so it wasn't showing up on camera.

As you can see it comes in a large velvet pouch with a sponge applicator, I personally would have preferred a natural fibre brush as I'm not a huge fan of any type of make up sponge.

Clarins bronzing duo

I wanted to tell you guys about this great little bronzes I found!

So last week I was getting my makeup done at the Clarins counter and the girl used their bronzing duo in 02 on me. To be honest I never thought I'd buy any makeup from Clarins as I don't really associate Clarins with makeup, even though I've relied on their skincare for years. But I was really impressed with the pigmentation and shimmeryness of their bronzer, at around £26 it's not too badly priced.

It says on the box that it is 'formulated with minerals and plant extracts that help protect and care for your skin', It also has an SPF 15. The packaging is nothing special although it does come with a cute little pouch which I like.

Dior Cherie bow collection

I've just purchased 2 products from Diors newly released spring collection. The collection consists of pinks and soft greys. It's a really pretty girly collection and is really easy to wear as a daytime look. I will be getting more of the collection when it becomes available, as it is currently not available in the uk until the 18th of January.

The nail polish I got is in 155 TUTU and is a very light pink. The consistency was thick and creamy and the applicator brush is thick and easy to use.

I also picked up Diors 3 couleurs 731 smoky rose eyeshadow pallet which consists of a very light matte pink shade as the base and 2 slightly darker pink shades, one of which is matte and the other is of a shimmery, glittery consistency.

As you can see from the swatches, these pinks are very subtle and don't have much pigmentation, however in real life they did show up more than in the picture. I would recommend using the pinks with other colours such as greys and purples if you wanted a more pigmented look. I love these pinks as they give a natural pink look and are an easy way of wearing pink without it being overpowering.

I tried the duo eyeshadow stick in pink in the shop and couldn't believe how bright it was, I think the bright pinks would look much better on darker complexions as I am very pale and looked as though I had a black eye.

I am really looking forward to Friday the 18th jan as that is the official launch date for the whole collection and I hope to get more Cherie bow goodies as I am loving this seasons colours.

Dior makeup haul!

Hi guys, this week I got a lot of new Dior makeup to add to my collection (I'm a little bit obsessed!). I wouldn't normally get this much in one go but escentual had 20% off so I had to treat myself. Here's what I got...

Il start with the lipsticks. The first one Is dior addict in 762 Paris, it's a very sheer wearable pink, almost barbie pink but as its sheer and slightly shimmery it is subtle and makes for a very nice everyday shade. As with all the Dior addict lipsticks the packaging is absolutely gorgeous. The formula is very moisturising and creamy, the lipstick tents to last 1-2 hours.

The next lipstick that I got is the Rouge Dior in 678 devilish pink. This lipstick is much darker and more pigmented than the Dior Addict lipstick and has a gorgeous candy scent, it reminds me of candy love hearts. The shade itself is a dark pink with a hint of blue, it has micro shimmer in it and is very moisturising. I find that this lipstick lasts me about 2-3 hours.

Next I got the Dior retractable lip brush, the brush itself looks gorgeous, however when it came to applying lipstick with I was slightly disappointed, as the hairs on the brush itself were very stiff and had bits of dried glue I between them. I have since washed it with MACs brush cleaner and the texture of the brush has improved. The brush has a pull mechanism and comes with a little velvet pouch to keep it pretty in your bag.

I also picked up a 3 couleurs pallet in 961 Smoky Violet, I am a massive fan of Dior eyeshadow and when I saw this one had purple colours I had to get it! This is my new favourite eyeshadow, as with all the 3 couleurs pallets it comes with a light purpley-pink shade as the base and then a darker matte shade and finally my favourite shade in all of these palettes, the shimmery-glittery purple shade. These colours blend amazingly and last all day and are super quick and easy to apply.

The eyebrow pencil that I picked up is Diors Powder eyebrow pencil in 653 Blonde. It comes with an eyebrow brush and sharpener. This eyebrow pencil stays on all day and doesn't smudge, it is slightly darker than Chanels blonde eyebrow pencil which I was pleased about as the Chanel one was slightly too light for me.

I also got Diors waterproof eyeliner pencil in 594 intense brown. This is a very dark shade of brown and really suits blondes as unlike other lighter shades it is not obviously brown but get looks much more natural than black. I found that although it says it is waterproof, by the end of the day it had still smudged a little in the outer corners but it did apply well as it went on really softly.

I also got the Diorshow mascara in 90 black, I love this mascara and have used it for years, it's grey for building volume and I also love to use it on top of other mascaras to make my lashes look extra long and volumised.

Finally, I got my first ever eye cream which is the Hydra Life pro youth sorbet eye cream. I have been using this product for about 5 days and I can feel the skin around my eyes is softer already, however as I have really sensitive eyes this cream has made them go a little gunky and sore:( I love this product and wish I wasn't allergic to it but regrettably it just isn't suited for me.

So that's everything that I got, out of everything the smoky violet eyeshadow has to be my favourite product, thanks for reading:)

MUA Haul!

Hey everyone! I went shopping earlier in Superdrug and was just looking for some cheap dark lipstick to try out and discovered MUA. I was amazed to find that they sell lipsticks for £1 :
O so I went on to buy 4 in shades 2, 8, 9 an 12, I also noticed that the lipsticks also have a small screw in container of the lipstick on the bottem end. I also picked up a lipliner in 'softly lined', an eyebrow pencil in 'brunette', a lipgloss in 'sienna', a 3 in 1 etreme contour liner in 'smoked plum' and a purple trio eyeshadow in 'passion'.

The first lipstick is shade '2' this is a dark berry colour with a bit of shimmer, it has a nice moisturising creamy texture and has good pigmentation.

Shade '8' is a dark shimmery red, again with good pigmentation and a creamy formula.

Shade '9' is a shimmery light brown which when applied looks more like a gloss, this shade is less pigmented than the others but still gives good coverage.

Shade '12' is a shimmery light but bright pink with hints of coraly peachy tones in it.

The lipliner wasn't very impressive as it was didn't seem to last very long and was lacking pigment.

The eyebrow pencil however was very soft and easy to apply, it gave excellent coverage and was very dark. However as it was so creamy it did smudge if you touched it.

The lipgloss has a nice texture, not sticky but has an odd chemically smell. It is a bright peachy pink colour and lasts about 3 hours.

MUA's extreme contour liner is easy to apply and looks lovely on but rubs off very quickly.

Finally, the trio eyeshadow in 'passion' had a really nice texture and shimmer, it applied well and the colours blended nicely, these shadows aren't dark but they give a nice subtle look.
